Remake of VTV in Hindi

On July 27, 2010, in Entertainment, kollywood, by

Trisha is getting ready for her role in the remake of the Tamil blockbuster Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa in Hindi. Directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, VTV enchanted the audience with its music and the sizzling hot on-chemistry between Trisha and Silambarasan. In fact, the pair is being touted as one of the best on-screen couple in Kollywood. Though Trisha had earlier performed a variety of roles, her oh-so-lovely character as Jesse in VTV was her best effort till date and earned applause from fans and critics as well.

With her latest movie Khatta Meetha with Akshay Kumar having a decent opening, all eyes in Bollywood are on this pretty damsel. To be paired opposite Prateek Babbar, son of veteran actor Raj Babbar, we all wonder if Gautham will be able to create the same magic on screen as he did in VTV. Prateek Babbar has already won the Filmfare Special Jury Award for ‘Outstanding Performance’ for his role in Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Na in 2009. So we will wait and see how the chemistry of this pair sizzles on the silver screen.

Sri Padmavathi Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam (SPMVV), the Tirupati-based all-women University, has announced to offer a one-year P.G. Diploma course in Wildlife Management from the academic year 2010-11.

The course will focus on the growing threat to wildlife and some of the government initiatives carried out to preserve the natural heritage such as ‘Project Tiger’, one of the most successful efforts in preserving and protecting the tiger population. The course will equip the women students with the knowledge required to restore the country’s green heritage.

The course was sanctioned by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under the head ‘Innovative programme’.

Post graduates in any branch of life sciences with 50 p.c. marks in the groups are eligible.

The students, after completion of the course, can get employed as scientific officers or research officers in State/Central departments, research institutes, private sector, voluntary organisations like World Wildlife Fund, People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) or Wildlife Conservation Society.

Finally, we have the picture perfect team for Shankar’s remake of ‘3 Idiots’ with Vijay, Silambarasan and Madhavan playing lead roles.

It was unconfirmed buzz as the assumptions about star-casts remained so confidential and now we have some of the sources uncovering about the trio donning lead roles. The Telugu version will have Mahesh Babu along with Simbhu and Maddy taking on the respective roles. The professor role performed by Boman Hirani in Hindi version will go to none other than Sathyaraj.

But for a greater surprise, A.R. Rahman will not be working with Shankar as he is busy with other projects and international tour. Shankar’s second preference always goes to Harris Jayaraj as they worked together previously for ‘Anniyan’.

As of now Shankar is brimmed with his preparations for ‘Enthiran’ and the complete team will be announced soon after the release.

McGrath engaged to Sara

Aussie cricketing great Glenn McGrath is engaged to his Italian girlfriend Sara Leonardi, 28.

The two got engaged after just seven months of dating. The 40-year-old cricketer presented Leonardi with a beautiful diamond engagement ring last week.

“I can confirm that they’re engaged, but that’s about as much information as I can give you,” News.com.au quoted McGrath’s manager Warren Craig as telling the Herald Sun.

“They got engaged about a week ago. Glenn and Sara haven’t spoken to any (magazines); there’s been no story told or anything like that and they’re not planning on speaking to anybody about the engagement,” Craig added.

Neha dhupia’s Fitness Secret

On July 26, 2010, in ACTRESS, Fitness, by

Right from my Miss India days, I have been trained to keep myself fit and healthy. I am blessed with an athletic body and I’ve always been into sports and exercising. Working out is a must for me. If I am shooting outdoors, I work out in the hotel gym or if that’s not possible, I run.

My gym regimen involves cardio and weight training. I am a huge fan of yoga and the only time I find to meditate is in my car during traffic jams.

To strike the right balance, in addition to doing the right kind of exercises, I stick to a healthy diet. My food intake is in smaller portions, divided over five to six meals over the day. Food is usually home cooked and it’s not too oily, spicy or sweet.

My fitness mantra is simple; it’s the right combination of healthy food, regular workouts and adequate rest.

South Indian actress Trisha Krishnan has entered Bollywood following the trend of debuting with a leading man far older than her. In ‘Khatta Meetha’, she stars opposite 43-year-old Akshay Kumar.

The age difference doesn’t bother her. She is currently shooting a Tamil film opposite 55-plus Kamal Haasan. But for her second Hindi film, Trisha will be seen with 24-year-old Prateik Babbar.

“The second Hindi film is a love story with just me and the guy in central roles. It’s a subject that can’t go wrong. I’ve already done the Tamil version of this film ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’. Now the same director, Gautham Menon, is remaking it in Hindi with Prateik and me,” Trisha, 27, said.

“I think we should be kick-starting it in August. I am excited because unlike ‘Khatta Meetha’, where I don’t have a central part, this one has a central role for me.”

“It was important for me to line up a second Hindi film before the first was released,” she said.

Speaking excitedly from Europe, where she is shooting with Kamal Haasan, Trisha said: “I’ve been away from home for almost 40 days. Though I’ve my mom with me I do miss home. But the shooting with Kamal sir and Maddy (Madhavan) is great fun.”

Trisha confesses she had her lines in Hindi dubbed in her first film. When you tell her that Akshay said she spoke Hindi well, Trisha laughs it off.

“Did he say that? I must thank him. The truth is I was a bit nervous about doing my own lines in Hindi. I’ve done so many Telugu films. But I don’t know the language at all. I know the grammar in Hindi but I can barely manage to speak it.”
