Inverted nipples (also referred to as invaginated nipples) are a commonly observed phenomenon. In the instance that that someone has inverted nipples, the name itself suggests what is going on. Rather than the normal or usually position of the nipple in which it is faced away from the mammary glands, the nipples are usually “pouched” in the breast. That does not mean that inverted nipples are an abnormality. It is simply a state of the body.
And it does not have to be gender restricted since inverted nipples are seen both with men and women. When the body is stimulated – sexual arousing, fatigue or sweating – the inverted nipples may be seen to be perky and pointed. But that is a short lived state since the nipples pull back inside the breast once the stimulus is gone.
